Sticker – little form of street art
Stickers are important elements of contemporary street art. These small art forms may affect the well-being of people, communicate ideas and views. They induce to reflect, sometimes are mysterious, subversive or fun and funny. Used by underground artists are often mini-masterpieces.
When I visit new places in Poland and abroad, I always look around for stickers. I’m fascinated by this kind of expression, because it is a great form of self-expression. Thanks to them the authors may publicly denounce, manifest their beliefs, share their creations with unlimited number of recipients. In times of continual surveillance on the Internet, stickers are a great medium to transmit “messages”. I have always been surprised by the variety of content and styles and techniques to create each of the little stickers. I like ‘hand-drawn’ stickers but I also have a huge affection for these vinyl and computer printed. I take a photos of the ones that intrigue me or captivate me, so I could later return to them, look closely, keep as a souvenir. Among many stickers I have photographed I have chosen some favorite. They come from the streets of three cities: Lodz, Barcelona and London.
In Lodz, street art is an integral part of the urban space. Giant phenomenal murals adorn the buildings of the city, there is the ubiquitous graffiti and a lot of great stickers. I found most interesting in the OFF Piotrkowska Center.
When with Marta we visited Barcelona last year we found a huge wall in the old town covered with countless amazing stickers- it was an incredible street art gallery.
One of my favorite artist @seclestyle.

In the photograph below are 3 of our stickers which I stuck myself during my visit in London;)
We also have our stickers. They are minimalist in cheerful colors, each of them contains a positive message and a password. The following photos show our stickers which Marta stuck traveling in Iceland. Our message went to the land of the elves :)
