Pod Nosem – small restaurant that captured our hearts
Do you know this pleasant feeling when you enter some place and from the first moment you feel so well you wish you’d stay there forever?
This happened to us during our short trip to Poznań, when we visited a small eatery Pod Nosem (“right under your nose”) a climatic place :)
It is located in a historic tenement house at Żydowska street, just next to the Old Market Square of Poznań. This tiny eatery hides many treasures. At this wonderful place, in a nice, informal atmosphere you will experience a feast of tastes. Here the fusion cuisine reigns, so the compositions of the whole world are combined with traditional recipes and thus give completely new variations. Cooking is a real passion for Jacek and Patryk- the owners and founders of the eater, who take care of every detail when preparing meals. Pod Nosem takes their guests on a culinary journey. Each dish is composed of fresh ingredients and served in a very interesting, refined way.
Pod Nosem means being happy of eating. The owners surprise their guests with new interesting dishes every day. They use seasonal products and combine them in original dishes. The warm and caring service makes this place hospitable and worth visiting. You always feel a VIP there.
We were also enchanted by the interior of the eatery. Wherever you look, you see interesting decorations, colorful posters, small bookcase with cookbooks, old-school metal cups, nice pots, fresh herbs, pots with pictures and many other original decorations.
This is an ideal place for lunch. Sophisticated salads, aromatic soups, delicious vegetarian dishes and meat are not all. At “Pod Nosem” you may also appreciate wonderful desserts and refreshing lemonades.
We decided to order a real hit of this place: little Asian burgers with pulled pork, pickled carrot, cucumber, coriander and ginger sauce, served with delicate salad with red currant. You may be sure; those were the best burgers we had ever eaten. However, if you prefer vegetarian food, you may also find something interesting in the menu. At our stay, in the menu reined the roasted celery on millet with mushrooms, zucchini and a lemon-mint sauce. It looked really tasty.

We could not resist to take a dessert…We were tempted by an almond tart with seasonal fruits and meringue dessert with black currant, whipped cream and shortcake. We also ordered homemade cucumber and gooseberry lemonade.
The Restaurant has now been one year old. And it has already gained a solid position on the Old Market Square. No wonder, it is such a tasty place… And this is not just our opinion. For instance Pascal Brodnicki, a famous cook, reminds his stay in Pod Nosem very well, and his opinion written with chalk on the wall says “It is worth eating here”. “Bon Appétit- Pascal”.
If you happen to be in Poznań, and you like easting in cameral places, you must visit Pod Nosem and the share your opinion with us. Culinary adventures of this wonderful place you may follow at FB @podnosemcafe and on Instagram @pod_nosem .
Best regards to the whole team of Pod Nosem. Thank you for making our day in Poznań. We are completely sure we will come back to you and we are looking forward to it.
